Golden Dominion, opus 113 (2021)

Golden Dominion is an adaptation for orchestra alone of the choral-orchestral work, Dominion. The earlier work is a solemn and lyrical work for choir and orchestra written in 2020 for the 2021 Vietnam War commemoration project sponsored by the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. Golden Dominion is a larger, slower and more opulently scored version of Dominion. This work also divides the strings but uses the blended sonorities of percussion, brass and woodwind to achieve a warm and luscious sound world. Golden Dominion aims for a luminous and richly resonant character and a sustained golden mood.  The work was commissioned by Flowers of War and the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, for the Long Tan movement of the  Vietnam Requiem.
