Ditties for voice and guitar, opus 17 (1983)

Ditties for voice and guitar, opus 17 (1983), is a setting of five short humorous poems by English writers including Lewis Carroll, G K Chesterton and Max Beerbohm. The poems are witty and somewhat nonsensical and the musical settings are short and playful. Originally written for baritone and guitar the songs can be sung by any low voice including mezzo-soprano. 

The five songs are as follows:

1. How doth the little crocodile / text by Lewis Carrol

2. Twinkle, twinkle little bat! / Lewis text by Carroll

3. Police station ditties / text by Max Beerbohm

4. Triolet / text by G K Chesterton

5. Miss Twye / text by Gavin Ewart
